NeighborImpact Head Start Program Your child’s well-being matters to you and it matters to our communities. NeighborImpact’s Head Start program is here to help your family build skills and connect with resources to prepare your child to be successful in school. Our quality pre-school program offers much more than classroom learning. We partner with parents and caregivers to make sure that families have access to: quality pre-kindergarten education health and dental care family support nutritional meals Every day, our Head Start program is proving to increase school readiness and provide children and families with the skills and resources they need be successful.

Who is Eligible?

Children who are 3 to 5 years old are eligible for Head Start services. Pregnant women and children from birth to 3 years of age are eligible for Early Head Start services. Children and families who are homeless, in foster care, or receive TANF or SSI are also eligible for services. Eligibility is determined by Head Start program staff and some families may be eligible for services if they are determined to be at or below the federal poverty level. Some grantees enroll a percentage of children from families with incomes above the Poverty Guidelines as well.

How to Apply
Head Start Eligibility Head Start is a program for low income families to help children be ready for school. There are a number of ways your family can meet Head Start eligibility requirements. Below are some general guidelines for your reference, but we encourage you to call and talk to one of our Head Start advocates to learn more about your options. To qualify for Head Start during the 2012-2013 school year: you must live in Crook or Deschutes county your child must have been 3 or 4-years-old on September 1, 2012 your family meets specific income or other eligibility requirements Income eligibility is based on 12 months of income (either the 12 months prior to application or the last calendar year). Your child may be eligible for Head Start if your family’s gross annual income does not exceed 100% of the federal poverty guidelines for family size. If you do not meet income
