The Sabine Parish School Board Universal Prekindergarten staff and administration are committed to providing a high quality, comprehensive, preschool program for all preschool children and their families through a child-centered curriculum. The first priority of the program is to instill a healthy self concept in each child. Parents play a very important role in the development of a child's self esteem. The Universal Prekindergarten staff works with the family in creating the best possible environment for each child.

Children who are 3 to 5 years old are eligible for Head Start services. Pregnant women and children from birth to 3 years of age are eligible for Early Head Start services. Children and families who are homeless, in foster care, or receive TANF or SSI are also eligible for services. Eligibility is determined by Head Start program staff and some families may be eligible for services if they are determined to be at or below the federal poverty level. Some grantees enroll a percentage of children from families with incomes above the Poverty Guidelines as well.

Preschool Registration Information A list of items need to register your child in the Sabine Parish Preschool Program. Please bring the following items with you when you register your child: Child's Birth Certificate Child's Social Security Card Child's Immunization Record Child's Medical/Insurance Cards Proof of Income Verification of Residency (Voter registration card, property tax statement or verification of physical residency such as a utility bill.)
