years old, and their parents for the social and educational challenges that young children face as they
develop. Each head start program focuses on providing comprehensive services designed to enhance a child's
emotional, social, cultural, language, reading, mathematics, science, health and nutrition education.

East Coast Migrant Head Start Project's early education services are designed to put each child we serve on a path to school success. Our culturally-responsive curriculum targets the language, literacy, and other school readiness skills of older toddlers and preschoolers in each of their languages. For our infants and young toddlers, learning is nurtured through warm relationships with responsive teachers who understand each child's style and rate of learning
What We DoRural Family Development, an agency of the Virginia Council of Churches operates 4 Migrant & Seasonal Head Start (MHS) centers between May and October serving approximately 300 children of migrant farm workers from birth to 5 years of age as well as their families. RFD delivers services in several major areas.

Even Start and Head Start Programs
Buchanan County Head Start is a community pre-school program that prepares low-income children for success in school and gives them a true "head start" as they move from pre-k years into the public school system.
The mission of the Chesterfield County Head Start Program is to provide a wide range of quality services to enrolled children and their families empowering them to foster positive relationships between home, school, and the larger community so that they may thrive in their efforts to meet the challenges of everyday life in a changing society.
Head Start promotes school readiness for 270 preschool children from low-income families living in the city of Alexandria through the provision of educational, health, nutritional, social, and other services.
Clinch Valley Community Action Head Start serves167 low-income children and their families. CVCA serves children in 8 classrooms as well as 1 home based program. Services provided include the following:• Cost-free child development for eligible 3 and 4 year old children and their families.• Individualized services in education and child development, medical, dental, mental health, nutrition and parent involvement.• USDA breakfast, lunch and a snack are provided to children in each center.
